Preethi Eke.. Film review

Something which most people have been talking(atleast were talking) and almost forgotten and it finally came. Director Prem after completing a successfull hatrik as a director has come up with a "New Philosophy" which i guess has been portrayed in the most complicated manner it could have possibly been said.

Firstly hats off to the technical team. Its definetely one of the richest movies made in Kannada. All the talk about Hi-Tech graphics been used do show up on screen but could have had better effect had it been supported with better performances. Thought the concept might seem old its the unique manner in which Director(Not Hero)Prem thinks which leads the movie throughout. Scenes dont come frame after frame. Instead they take a lead to gradually merge back to the previous scenes. In most cases its quite thrilling to watch it. But exxagerated dragging of the first half and unable to wind up the movie quickly are the major drawbacks.prem, mallika sherawat, rohini, namrata

The highly underrated songs by RP PATNAIK are made well to suit to the situations. Title songs is excellently captured and is a treat to watch with great graphics. Neene Neene and Chandamama songs have got breathtaking locales. Atleast that's a place which brings satisfaction for the hard work which the team claims to have done in making the movie. Highly hyped Mallika Sherawat entry into kannada is purely an understatement cause it has no major influence to the movie and just adds another 4 mins extra. You really have no time to even settle down to watch the song since it comes and goes in no time. Its purely a gimmic to draw the front row audience into the movie and they too may be dissapointed since Prem has maintained his reputation of not misusing heroines using skinshow. EeJana Ee mana also has no relavence in the movie. It just takes off the mood from the main concept which might irritate most people.

However getting back to the main core of the movie PYBM is Prem’s experiment, whose success will mainly depend on how people will interpret it after watching. Its a highly intellectual script and perceptual, emotional levels are very high. However Prem's need a congrats for adopting a fresh method to show normal things which usually lacks with most directors today. The film almost achives in telling most of things it was intended to tell. It preches the importance of love in mankind, faith of mankind in himself and surroundings and the very important fact that once you are born you definetely have someone made for you. "Instead of pressurising yourself to find love wait patiently and love will find you".

Despite trying hard to put as many things into the minds of the audience Prem has let many simple facts slip out of place. He has not concentrated on giving good expressions. The camerawork is worthy enough though not great to be talked about. The fight sequences are the best ever and the single shot fight for about 4 mins is breath taking. Show very realistically it gives no suprises as to why the movie received an "A" certification. Namratha has given a great performance but is curtailed to maintained some unnessary expressions. Roshini though has nothing much to do and is just a glam quotient. Prem has maintained his usual team and the new addition Sharan turns most eyelids towards him. However a unexpected climax too may confuse most people.

Slangs rule throughout the movie.Prem should consider himself very luckly to have a person like Ramprasad backing him very well. The use of Rakshita,Ex CM Kumaraswami,Muttapa Rai etc come and go in no time and you just dont have any time to understand what they are trying to say. Definetely the movie could have got a much better response had Prem used a more responsible actor and concentrated on the script better. The ability to maintain audience throughtout the movie is definetely lost in the last half hour. If at all Prem had concentrated in putting a neat icing on the cake towards the last few mins it would have made a big difference. But whatever may be said keeping with the flaws PYBM deserves some food for thought basically for its freshness and technicality. Prem hope to see you only behind the camera from next time.
